"I have been a State Farm customer for years — auto and renters insurance — and the lack of follow-through has been beyond frustrating. When I moved out of my apartment in January 2025, I contacted them to cancel my renters insurance. I never received any response. I was traveling all year and didn’t follow up, but assumed it had been handled. When I settled into my new place this February, I discovered I had been charged monthly for renters insurance on an address I no longer lived at for over a year. I reached out again, explained the situation, requested cancellation, asked to update my address, and requested some form of reimbursement given the circumstances. No one responded. I had to follow up again just to get any reply at all. When someone finally got back to me, they confirmed the cancellation and address update — but completely ignored my reimbursement request. Then I just now received an email showing my policies (renters and car) are still linked to my old address, meaning neither the cancellation nor the address update was actually processed correctly. I have tried reaching out to multiple people and continue to get no response. I am now looking at switching providers entirely. If someone from State Farm sees this and actually wants to make it right, please contact me."
